Inspiration for a project I'm working on. Colored hair can be elegant and stylish.

I went to Barnes and Noble and "read" magazines

I took a picture of anything I found interesting. I didn't care or try to make the pictures beautiful. Prepare for glare central.Sorry. I mean deal with it.

Turning 25

I'm turning 25 on February 14th! Scary. I feel like I should be a proper adult by now but I'm not.
Here's my Mega Whistlist of overpriced items. I'd be happy if I got just one of these things.

Christian Dior Spring 2011 Inspires sewing project

This little jackets neckline mimmicks the dior close enough

I've had this fabric laying about for some time. I'm ready to use it.

mini houndstooth (bright green an black checks)

I learned to sew in 2009. I was really into it and learned fast the first year but since then I have not improved much. I would like to change this and be able to make more wearable pieces. I have tons of patterns and fabric hoarded in boxes. The green houndstooth and McCall's 5479 pattern are just some of these unused items. I originally bought the houndstooth on clearance and planned to make a long swing coat but I think I'll start with this one first.

The Dior piece is perfect. I'm not trying to recreate such art. It serves merely as an inspiration for the color palette, silhouette, and styling. So mine will be very loosely based. I would like to create a similar feeling rather than a duplicate. I just like that they are both a bit retro. You will soon come to know that I am in love with vintage details.

Honestly I wish I could make the head to toe look but I lack the skill and occasion to wear it. My goal is merely to create a cute little cropped swing coat that does not look homemade.

You have to start somewhere

Hello to all,

My name is Mary. I’m a 24 year old lifelong Californian. If you want to get a feel for my style, I post all my inspiration on heylittlerichgirl.tumblr.com

There is so much I adore in life. I really want this blog to be sort of a personal, visual journal with pictures I actually take and stuff I actually do. There are so many things that inspire me and I want to make sure that I incorporate them into my daily life. This will be a fashion, sewing, DIY, cooking, and beauty blog documenting my daily activities and projects. It sounds like a lot to handle but if you like pretty things combined in an eclectic and tasteful manner then you might want to come visit from time to time.
